Description: | CRREL Report Abstract: The results of an experimental study on the steady growth condition of a segregated ice layer under various applied pressures were presented in Part I. Using the data obtained, we evaluate the accuracy of the model M₁, and the predicted steady growth condition is found to be in good agreement with the condition found empirically. The concept of segregation potential introduced by Konrad and Morgenstern in the early 1980s is examined based on M₁. M₁is found to be consistent with the empirical data that were used to support their segregation potential theory. |
