Abstract: | The primary purpose of this federal action is to support the navigation functions of Algoma Harbor. The need is to repair the structure and install new sheet pile along approximately 1,102 linear feet of the north pier and 1,530 linear feet of the south breakwater. A concrete cap would also be installed over both structures. Both actions are to maintain operational integrity of the structure. The proposed project would provide a more stable and long-lasting structure, better maintaining safe passage for vessels entering and exiting the port. |
