Abstract: PURPOSE: This technical note provides a brief introduction to Bayesian networks and discusses how they might be applied to model dredging decisions. This information has been condensed from a more detailed discussion of probabilistic networks in an Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Technical Report (Schultz et al. 2011). That report also includes a detailed example demonstrating how Bayesian networks could be used to model navigation dredging decisions.
