Abstract: This report summarizes research conducted by the Dredging Research Program, Technical Area 1, "Analysis of Dredged Materials Disposed in Open Water." Goals of Technical Area 1 were as follows: (A.) To establish a better understanding of boundary-layer properties of both cohesive and noncohesive materials and develop short- and long-tenn numerical approximation for determining the fate and disposition of dredged materials disposed in open water. (B.) To develop field instrumentation to track suspended sediment plumes and monitor nearshore benns and disposal mounds for resuspension and migration of the dredged material.
