Abstract: This report documents the history of a program initiated in 1946 to evaluate materials for use as chemical soil stabilizers by the military. A number of Government agencies, universities, and private firms were involved in the program. In addition, many other companies submitted candidate materials for evaluation. Appendix A presents documentation of all materials evaluated including category, components, cost, applicability with regard to soil type, mixing capability, and related effectiveness. Also given are the agencies which conducted the evaluation and appropriate references in which more detailed information of the materials can be found.
