Description: Special Report
Abstract: This report contains a survey of Corps of Engineers floodplain inventories. Its purpose was to determine if enough building materials information was available in the Corps data base to be used for predicting the distribution of building materials across the country as part of the EPA acid rain assessment program. The floodplain surveys were rated using the criteria of the date of the survey, the number of buildings, the variety of building materials, the amount of dimensions data listed for the buildings, the land cover types in the data, and whether or not the data were computerized. Six structure inventories were recommended for further study.
