Description: CRREL Report
The segregation potential (SP) model is semiempirical in nature. An accurate mathematical model is needed that provides the functional dependence of SP on pertinent variables specifying given thermal and hydraulic conditions in terms of well-defined functions (or parameters) describing the properties of a given soil. In response to such a need a mathematical model called M₁was introduced and efforts have been made to validate M₁with empirical findings and experimental data. In this report we will show that the functional dependence of SP on pertinent variables predicted by M₁is consistent with empirical findings that were used to build the SP model.
