Abstract: One axisymmetric model having representative design features found in Minuteman launch facilities was built to a 1/4 scale of the prototype facility. The model was built for the SMI Field Test Program - Event I. Structurally nonessential features were not included and structurally essential design features were modified to an axisymmetric configuration. The design and drawings of the model built for PHASE II-GRABS were altered for use in this study. The material properties of the steel and concrete used in the model were similar to those used in the prototype. Smaller aggregates were used in the model concrete and equivalent steel percentages were maintained between model and prototype. Strain gages were installed at selected locations on the reinforcing steel and concrete surfaces. Transducer mounts were also fabricated as part of the model to receive various measuring devices to be installed by AFWL.
