Description: Technical Report
Summary: During the summers of 1955 and 1956, a detailed study was made of an ice cliff 500 m long and up to 40 m high on the east margin of North Ice Cap near its junction with the main Greenland Ice Cap. Glaciological and meteorological measurements were extended from the cliff northward for 2 km up the rolling surface of the glacier, which forms an ice drainage basin. Geomorphological and botanical studies were extended southward over 6. 5 km of land in northern Nunatarssuaq. From these studies, details of the present activity of the ice cliff are known, and the past history of the ice cliff and adjacent glaciers is outlined. NOTE: This file is large.
