Description: Technical Report
Abstract: An arctic terrain characteristics data bank was established as part of a program to evaluate advanced surface effect vehicle (SEV) designs for Arctic use. The data bank contains approximately 4300 kilometers of terrain profiles in digital form acquired with an airborne laser profilometer system, and approximately 50 digital terrain maps for areas ranging from 0.01 km^2 to 1 km^2 photogrammetrically derived from aerial photography. The development and data processing techniques are described along with descriptions of the data bank contents.
