Abstract: Bristol Borough requested support from the Philadelphia District (NAP) to study changes in flood risk. Increased flooding risk has reduced residential and industrial property values and decreased city property-tax revenue particularly from commercial areas. Unmitigated flooding in these areas threatens residential and commercial property and may cause businesses to experience downtime and incur financial losses. Other problems include storm water run-off that is impacting industrial and residential areas near a lake in the borough and flooding issues in a creek near residential and commercial properties that may be caused by runoff from upstream development.
