Abstract: The Strategic Environmental Research and Development Program (SERDP) initiated an ecosystem research and monitoring program relevant to Department of Defense (DoD) ecosystem management concerns. The program, which started in Fiscal Year 1998, is titled the SERDP Ecosystem Management Project (SEMP). This report describes the purpose and approach for this project, and the ways in which research and monitoring results will be linked to .
