Abstract: This report presents the research conducted by Oregon State University at the mouth of the Columbia River entitled ’’Water Column, Primary Productivity, and Sediment Studies." The report describes the study plan and the sampling and analytical methods used. Few data are presented since the data are stored in the computer at the U.S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station. However, some of the data are summarized in figures included in this report. The study concludes that the disposal of clean sand in an open-water area has little effect on the levels of the various potential pollutants—either in the water column or in the sediments in the disposal area.
