Description: Technical Report
Abstract: This manual provides a discussion of the fundamental transport processes and the governing equations for mixing of solutes in rivers. Both the initial mixing associated with the momentum and buoyancy of the effluent discharge and the ambient transport following the initial mixing are considered in detail. Experimental considerations are discussed, and applications of the transport equations for both initial and ambient mixing problems are presented. NOTE: This file is very large.
