Abstract: The purpose of this report is to present the data, results, and analysis of the latest sedimentation resurvey in John Martin Reservoir and other associated data in the sedimentation investigations program for the Arkansas River above Great Bend, Kansas. The reservoir resurvey was started 20 August 1957 and completed in September 1957. The report will be used in connection with reservoir operation and management, plans for watershed improvement, watershed flood control, channel improvement, irrigation, and other studies on the Arkansas River and tributaries. The report was delayed due to lack of funds. These data are often used in the studies of projects on other streams with characteristics similar to the Arkansas River in Colorado. The report summarizes current information on the investigations being conducted at the reservoir and on the Arkansas River which may be of interest to the Subcommittee on Sedimentation, Inter-Agency Committee on Water Resources. It is intended to serve as a history of the investigations which may be of immediate and future interest to engineers not involved in the investigations.
