Abstract: This paper is to present information sufficient for community leaders and other interested parties to gain an increased understanding of the flood problems and other related resources needs in the Sacramento area and potential alternatives for resolving them. This understanding is necessary for these leaders to reach a consensus on the general project scope for finalizing the American River Watershed Feasibility study. The selection of a preferred plan will be accomplished as part of the current feasibility study and report that will be submitted to Congress for construction authorization. The report will include a comparison of the plan that maximizes National Economic Development to the preferred plan to determine the amount of Federal cost-sharing. A draft Feasibility Report and Environmental Impact Statement is scheduled for public review in August 1990.
