Description: | Information Exchange Bulletin Abstract: There are several thousand sites In the U.S. with the potential for hydroelectric generation. Care must be taken to develop this energy with minimal damage to natural resources or disruption of the downstream environment. As part of the Environmental and Water Quality Operational Studies (EWQOS), aeration/oxygenation techniques are being developed to avoid releasing water from hydroelectric projects that is low in dissolved oxygen. The results of a search of the literature on reaeration of reservoir releases are described In the following article. |
