The present report describes the McNary Second-Step Cofferdam closure operation from the time of a warding the contract to the completion of the river diversion. The McNary closure was a very difficult engineering problem which was solved by an ingenious method never used before. The present report describes the application of the method, the changes made on the basis of model experiments and the developments which assisted the ultimate success of the operation. The report concludes that the McNary method can be applied on other difficult river diversions and suggests possible improvements.en_US
