Abstract: | The Codorus Creek FRM levee system was authorized under the Flood Control Act of 1936 to provide flood management to the City of York and downstream communities. The levee system has been in operation since the 1940s. During the USACE 2015 periodic inspection of the levee system, deficiencies were identified that need to be addressed. The purpose of this proposed action is to rehabilitate and repair the Codorus Creek FRM levee system and restore the overall reliability of the Indian Rock Dam/Codorus Creek FRM projects. The proposed work tasks are intended to restore the levee system to its originally-authorized design flood management capacity and integrity. Absent repairs and rehabilitation of the Codorus Creek FRM levee system, the levee system would continue to deteriorate. |
