| Abstract: | This section discusses the purpose of, and need for a South Florida Water Management (SFWMD) proposed project that would modify the 8.5 Square Mile Area (SMA) L‐357W levee that is part of an existing Federal Civil Works project. This modification requires a Section 408 approval from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), which requires National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review and is the subject of this Environmental Assessment (EA) and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI). |
