Abstract: This Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) has been prepared by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Sacramento District in cooperation with U.S. Forest Service, Sequoia National Forest, Kern River Ranger District (USFS). The FEIS is prepared as a companion document to the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) which was released on March 23, 2012. The DEIS is the primary source for detailed affected environment and environmental impact information for the proposed Isabella Lake Dam Safety Modification Project (Isabella Lake DSM Project). The FEIS focuses on the Preferred Alternative and subsequent changes to the DEIS analyses. These documents evaluate the environmental impacts of implementing the Isabella Lake DSM Project to remediate existing seismic, seepage, and hydrologic deficiencies in the Main Dam, Spillway, and Auxiliary Dam. The Corps is the Federal lead agency and the USFS is a cooperating agency for the Isabella DSM Project. This document was prepared to meet requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969.
