Abstract: Drag is generated when a fluid moves through vegetation. The drag creates velocity gradients and eddies that cause momentum losses. These losses are significant for a wide range of flow conditions, and existing techniques for the prediction of resistance do not take these into account, leading to underpredictions of resistance.
