Abstract: The purpose of the project is to repair and restore the damaged levee in order to protect lives and property from subsequent flooding. The need is to take appropriate measures to address damage which has reduced the level of protection of the Meadowhurst levee. Prior to the damage, this levee offered an approximate 50-year level of protection. In the current damaged state, the levee provides protection from an approximate 3-year flood event. Without repair of the levee, the community is at risk to flood damages should another flood event occur in the St. Joe River.
