Abstract: The purpose of this Environmental Assessment (EA) is to provide sufficient information on the potential environmental impacts resulting from the selection of a site for open-lake placement of material dredged from the Upper Cuyahoga River Channel of Cleveland Harbor, Ohio, as proposed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE). Analysis of the potential impacts of the proposed project will determine if the project is a major federal action significantly affecting the quality of the human environment. This EA facilitates compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969, and includes discussion of the need for the action, the affected environment, a description of the proposed action and alternatives, its environmental impacts, applicable analyses, environmental compliance, comments received and how they were addressed, and a list of agencies, interested groups and individuals consulted.
