Abstract: Purpose: This technical note describes the results of a field study conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the rust fungus, Puccinia jaceae var. solstitialis, as a biological control agent for management of yellow starthistle, Centaurea solstitialis L., at Fort Hunter Liggett, an Army training installation in California (Figure 1).
