Abstract: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps), Mississippi Valley Division, St. Louis District, has prepared this Environmental Assessment (EA) to evaluate the potential impacts associated with the proposed forest management activities within two compartments, located in Mississippi River Pool 26, Lincoln and St. Charles counties, Missouri. The Proposed Actions would be conducted over the next 5-7 years and would include approximately 600 acres in 29 individual forest stands. These actions would be accomplished in accordance with the Rivers Project Master Plan and Upper Mississippi River Systemic Forest Stewardship Plan. This EA has been prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) of 1969 and the Council on Environmental Quality’s Regulations (40 Code of Federal Regulations §1500-1508), as reflected in the USACE Engineering Regulation 200-2-2. Impacts on environmental resources are discussed in detail in this Environmental Assessment and summarized in the Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).
