Abstract: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi Valley Division, New Orleans District, has prepared this Individual Environmental Report #17 (IER #17) to evaluate the potential impacts associated with the proposed construction and maintenance of a 100-year level of protection along the West Bank and Vicinity, Company Canal Floodwall from the Bayou Segnette State Park to the New Westwego Pumping Station. The term “100-year level of protection,” as it is used throughout this document, refers to a level of protection that reduces the risk of hurricane surge and wave-driven flooding that the New Orleans Metropolitan area has a 1 percent chance of experiencing each year. The proposed project is located in Jefferson Parish near New Orleans, Louisiana.
