Abstract:	The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mississippi Valley Division, New Orleans District, has prepared this Individual Environmental Report Supplemental 2.a to evaluate the potential impacts associated with the proposed project revisions to the original IER 2. The proposed action modifications are located on the parish line of Jefferson and St. Charles Parishes, Louisiana. The purpose of the proposed action modification is to correct an existing drainage problem that was compounded by the construction of the new West Return Floodwall. The proposed modification is the installation of a drainline that would collect the rainfall runoff from the floodwall and the areas just east of it. The rainfall would be collected through a series of drain inlets into a drainline. From the drainline, the water would be conveyed via several transfer lines to the existing City of Kenner drainage system. The new drainline would be capable of handling up to a 10-year rain event. On July 18, 2008, the District Commander signed the Decision Record for IER 2. IER 2 and its Decision Record are hereby incorporated by reference into this supplemental document. Copies of the original IER and other supporting information are available upon request or at www.nolaenvironmental.gov. This supplemental document has been prepared to address proposed changes in the Government’s approved plan.
