Abstract: Abstract: Grid-based distributed watershed modeling can be used for estimating nutrient loading and as part of a decision support system to assess nutrient runoff risk and to identify critical nutrient sources and hydrologically sensitive areas. This technical note reviews applicable phosphorus algorithms for incorporation into the Gridded Surface Subsurface Hydrologic Analysis (GSSHA) model, suggests areas of algorithm improvement, and places grid-based spa-tial watershed modeling analysis within a decision support system framework.
