From the Preface: This paper presents the results of an analysis of certain wind, wave, and water level data obtained in Lake Okeechobee, Florida, during the passage of two hurricanes, one in August of 1949 and the other in October of 1950. The purpose of the analysis was to relate wind set-up and wave heights observed in Lake Okeechobee to wind velocity, fetch, water depth, and surface shape of the lake.
