dc.description | Abstract: Relationships between landforms and plant communities for a 650,000 hectare area in the Chihuahuan Desert; New Mexico and Texas, were studied using aerial photography and field observations. Techniques used showed that plant communities were associated with definite landform units, and with the soil depth, texture, and moisture characteristics in the various units. Four major landform-soil units were identified on which a specific plant community was found, accounting for more than 30 percent of the community's distribution. | - |
