Description: | Technical Aid Abstract: The DHI System 21 Mark 8 numerical model for the prediction of both long and short waves is being used in certain studies of coastal engineering problems. Procedures are discussed for using the model to predict nearshore short wave transformations. An example is presented showing the combined effects of refraction, shoaling, reflection, and diffraction. Predicted model results are compared to measured wave heights at the Coastal Engineering Research Center's Field Research Facility in Duck, North Carolina. |
