Abstract: This report focuses on practices that offer opportunities to reduce mowing and other grounds maintenance costs. The primary practices that will be discussed include the use of low-maintenance vegetation, such as wildflowers and native grasses, and the use of chemical control, such as plant growth regulators. A questionnaire was developed and distributed to Army installations and other public land use agencies to compare the Army's mowing standards and practices to those of other agencies. Questionnaire results are swnmarized in this report.
