Abstract: | Abstract: Beach nourishment is one engineering alternative for combating coastal erosion and for providing shore protection against storm-produced waves and flooding. This study provides a summary and review of the following beach nourishment topics: (a) Analyzing and characterizing sediments, (b) sampling beaches and borrow sites, (c) calculating composite grain-size distributions, and (d) use of existing beach-fill schemes. State-of-the-art recommendations relating to these topics are provided at the conclusion of this report. |
