Abstract: Purpose: The general purpose of the experiments under discussion was to determine the efficacy of the material known as bentonite as an agent for reducing seepage through and under levees. Specifically, it was desired to determine the efficacy of bentonite used (a), as a grout; (b), as a blanket, and (c), as a cut-off wall.
