Description: Technical memorandum
General: This memorandum constitutes the final report of a study performed at the U. S. Waterways Experiment Station on a model of channel improvements proposed under the authorized flood-control project for Hornell, New York. The general purpose of the study was to observe the behavior of the improvements in the model and to obtain information which would either substantiate the original design or assist in the development of any necessary or desirable modifications. Most of the tests were performed on a 1-to-40 scale (undistorted) fixed-bed model. Supplementary tests were performed on a 1-to-25 scale (undistorted) section model of the Canacadea Creek drop structure.
