Description: | Technical memorandum Preface: The model study of proposed high-level railroad and highway crossings of the Morganza Floodway, Louisiana, was requested by the President, Mississippi River Commission, in letter dated 16 August 1946, subject: "Model Tests on High-level Crossings, Morganza and West Atchafalaya Basin." Authority to conduct the modal study was granted by the President, Mississippi River Commission, in lst Memo Ind. dated 25 November 1946 to Waterways Experiment Station Memo dated 11 October 1946, subject as above. The study was conducted at the Waterways Experiment Station during the period August 1947 to May 1948 under the supervision of Mr. E.B. Lipscomb and with Mr. W. L. McInnis directly in charge of the study. Active in liaison and advisory capacities as representatives of the President, Mississippi River Commission, were, Messrs. E. J. Williams, J. E. Sanders and F. B. Toftaleti, engineers. |
