Description: Technical memorandum
Synopsis: This memorandum constitutes a comprehensive report on the model study performed at the U. S. Waterways Experiment Station on the spillway for the Fort Gibson Dam, Grand River, Oklahoma. The purpose of the study was to examine the hydraulic performance of the proposed spillway, with special reference to hydraulic safety at maximum discharges, and to develop means for correcting any uneconomic safe, or undesirable conditions found to exist. All tests were conducted on a section model, reproducing 9 of the 24 gate bays of the spillway, built to the linear scale ratio, model to prototype 1 to 50.
