Synopsis: This memorandum constitutes the final comprehensive report on the model study performed at the U.S. Waterways Experiment Station on the spillway for the Dewey Dam, Johns Creek, Kentucky. The general purpose of the study was to investigate the hydraulic performance of the proposed spillway structure and to determine the protective measures necessary to insure the safety of the dam and appurtenant structures during the occurrence of high discharges. All tests were conducted on a model built to the linear scale ratio, model to prototype, of 1 to 50.
