Introduction: The proposed Little Grassy Dam is an Illinois State operated Works Progress Administration project, which is sponsored by the U. S. Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Service. The proposed site of the dam is on Little Grassy Creek in the vicinity of Carbondale, Illinois. The dam is to be a compacted earth fill dam, approximately 3700 ft in length and 85ft maximum height. Details of the design as proposed by the Soil Conservation Service are described in the Specification, Little Grassy Dam, published by the Soil Conservation Service, Crab Orchard Project, Illinois.
