Description: Technical memorandum
General Remarks: This memorandum is the final report of a study performed at the U. S. Waterways Experiment Station on a model of Tunnel No. 1, Fort Peck Dam. The study was concerned with hydraulic problems encountered in the design of a 3-unit hydroelectric plant to be located at the existing tunnel outlet. The model upon which these problems were investigated was built to the undistorted linear scale of 1 to 20 and included, in addition to the entire length of tunnel, all such components as the intakes, control shafts, transitions, penstocks, and surge tanks.
