Description: | Technical memorandum Foreword: This investigation forms a part of Item ES 026 of the Engineering Studies Program of the Office, Chief' of Engineers, and was authorized by (a) letter from the Office, Chief of Engineers, dated 7 December 1950, subject, "Reinforced. Concrete Beams for Tensile Crack Exposure Test," and second endorsement thereto dated 17 January 1951, (b) first endorsement dated. 14 May 1951 to a letter from the U. S. Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station (WES) to the Office, Chief of Engineers, dated 7 Hay 1951, subject, "Tensile Crack Exposure Tests for Reinforced Concrete, Additional Tests," and. (c) letter from the Office, Chief of Engineers, dated 29 January 1954, subject, "Proposed Additional Tensile Crack Exposure Tests for Reinforced Concrete Beams," and second endorsement thereto dated 7 May 1954. The test program was planned by the Office, Chief of Engineers, in cooperation with the Reinforced Concrete Research Council of the American Society of Civil Engineers and. conducted by the Concrete Division of the WES under the supervision of Messrs. T. B. Kennedy, B. Mather, J. M. Polatty, E. E. McCoy, Jr., L. Pepper, and W. O Tynes. This report was prepared by Mr. E. C. Roshore. Directors of the WES during the conduct of this study and the preparation and publication of this report were Col. R. D. King, CE, Col. H. J. Skidmore, CE, Col. C. H. Dunn, CE, Col. A. P. Rollins, Jr., CE, Col. Edmund H. Lang, CE, and Col. A. G. Sutton, Jr., CE. Technical Director was Mr. J. B. Tiffany. |
