Technical memorandum-
Synopis: This memorandum constitutes a final comprehensive report on the results of tests conducted at the U.S. Waterways Experiment Station on two models of the spillway for the Center Hill Dam, Caney Fork River, Tennessee. The model studies were authorized by the Chief of Engineers, U.S. Army, on 4 October 1941. The general purpose of the studies was to determine the adequacy of the spillway and bucket as designed and to effect economical revisions where feasible. The studies involved the use of two undistorted-scale models: (a) a 1-to-40-scale section model of one central gate bay and two adjacent half bays of the spillway and bucket, and (b) a 1-to-100- scale comprehensive model of the entire spillway structure and a portion of the dam.
