Preface: The tests reported herein were authorized by letter from Office, Chief of Engineers, dated 10 August 1953, subject, "Investigation of Suitable Recording Equipment for Concrete Batch Plants," and form a part of Civil Works Investigation Item CW (()1, "Research in Mass Concrete." With one exception, all of the equipment described in this report was tested in the 2-cu-yd-capacity batching plant used by the Concrete Division, Waterways Experiment Station. The investigation was conducted under the supervision of Mr. J. R. Gilbert, formerly of the Office, Chief of Engineers, Messrs. T. B. Kennedy, Chief, and H. K. Cook, former Chief, of the Concrete Division, by Messrs. C. H. Willetts, W. O. Crawley, W. O. Tynes, and R. A. Bendinelli, of the Concrete Division, Waterways Experiment Station. This report was prepared by C. H. Willetts.
