Description: Miscellaneous Paper
Abstract: In predicting the response of soils subjected to dynamic loads, the pertinent soil properties must be known. This report discusses the various laboratory methods for determining the damping value for a soil, resonant column testing, cyclic triaxial testing, and uniaxial-triaxial stress-strain testing. The procedures for calculating the damping values are given.
