Description: Miscellaneous Paper
Abstract: The resonant column test is used to determine by vibration the shear modulus, shear damping, rod modulus (Young's modulus) and rod damping of cylindrical specimens of soil in the undisturbed and remolded conditions. The vibration apparatus, apparatus calibration, and calculations are described. The reduction of all resonant column test data is presented in a computer program.
