Description: Technical Report
Abstract: This document is a revision and technical update of the original PAVER Concrete Distress Manual published by the U.S. Army Construction Engineering Research Laboratories (USACERL) in June 1989. It comprises an illustrated concrete pavement distress manual suitable for use by pavement inspection personnel in the field or in pavement inspection training courses. The manual defines distresses and measurement methods for inspecting the condition of concrete-surfaced roads and parking lots, and is intended for use in conjunction with the PAVER Engineered Management System (EMS). The definitions and methods are keyed for use in determining a Pavement Condition Index (PCI), which is a central component of the PAVER EMS. A companion document addressing asphalt-surfaced roads and parking lots, USACERL Technical Report 97/104, is also available.
