Description: Technical note
PURPOSE: Modeling of nearshore waves under extreme events presents challenges, including the interaction of waves with storm surge, wave generation by complex wind files, and wave dissipation in wetlands. The purpose of this technical note is to demonstrate the application of the Steady-State Spectral Wave model STWAVE for modeling nearshore waves during Hurricane Katrina. STWAVE is under development in the System-Wide Water Resources Program (SWWRP).
