ABSTRACT: High forces tend to move and bind large tows against the upstream guard wall at John H. Overton Lock and Dam. Prototype velocities, discharges, and water-surface elevations were obtained to verify and supplement physical model study information. The data are also a basis by which prototype performance, following modifications to the guard wall ports, can be assessed.
