Abstract: The blisters on this 2-year old roof were first noticed one year after construction. Findings show that all blisters were built into the roof and that they will continue to develop in size and number. Currently, this roof is watertight, but leaks will occur as blisters begin to break. Rather than wait for problems, recommendations are provided for using a CRREL-designed pressure relief valve to prevent blisters from growing and ever becoming a problem.
